Microsoft launches console movies trivia game

Quick on the heel's of Sony's success with Buzz, a trivia game for it's Playstation console, Microsoft has released its own interactive movies trivia game: Scene it?

It may not be surprising to see that instead of trying to develop their own brand of movie trivia games, Microsoft preferred to license a well-loved trivia board game, and copy the controllers off of Sony. Well, not exactly copy. They do look a lot alike, but Microsoft's controller is wireless (ring any ipod bells?) This is a nice perk, and the range is more than sufficient, but it has it's downs too – you need to maintain a line of site, and also change batteries every so and then.

Trivial things like the controllers aside – how does "Scene it?" measure up as a movies trivia game? First of all the game has only 1,800 questions. That's not a whole lot compared to what you get in online trivia games sites – usually tens of thousands of good quality trivia questions. Like in the online games, the system keeps track of the questions you've seen, so it should take a while before you start getting questions you've already been asked, but for an avid trivia player, new questions can run out quite quickly.

The questions are presented either as video clips, general knowledge questions or picture puzzles, all about the movies of course.

In the early rounds the score is determined only by how quick you answer the questions, but later on the system becomes more intricate with penalties for incorrect answers. In the final round there is a special round in which you can earn a lot of bonus points if you answer a number of questions correctly.

After each round there are also bonus points awarded for a number of factors like answering all the questions correctly, or answering more questions correctly than any of the other competitors in the game.

All in all, looks like Microsoft has done a decent job in creating their version of a popular movies trivia game, but still, nothing to compare to a good trivia website.

Online slots and video poker are hugely popular casino games and the dumping of coins is rather enough to decide a player's winning or losing. Even then, a player must also be very lucky because all these games are matte of chance. If it interests you to play play blackjack online, there are tons of such games in the internet.
